Let’s end the silence and start defending our mental health

1 in 5 U.S. adults experience mental illness each year.

1 in 20 U.S. adults experience a serious mental illness each year, and less than two-thirds receive treatment.

The average delay between onset of mental illness symptoms and treatment is 11 years.

These stats from NAMI (The National Alliance on Mental Illness) shocked us. Deeply. 1 in 5 Americans is 50 million people. We think it’s time for us all to recognize the importance of mental health and do whatever we can to help improve our overall health and wellness.

Problem is, many people are still afraid to speak out, share how they feel and talk openly about their mental health. Fear of ridicule, embarrassment or being perceived as weak mean they suffer in silence. Often making the problem worse.

We are committed to helping break down the barriers that prevent those who need mental health care from getting help.

We are proudly stigma-free partners of The National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI), America’s largest grassroots charity network working that advocate, raises awareness and provides support to individuals and families affected by mental illness.

And this year, in support of World Mental Health Day 2021, we have collaborated with 2 world renowned artists to tackle the social stigma’s that can stop people talking and seeking help when it comes to their mental health.

Graphic artist, Anthony Burrill, combines a knack for simplicity that packs a punch with analogue craft skills that deliver powerful, positive messages. Using his unique style in this bespoke design for Healist which encourages action to talk mental health.

“I love the sentiment of the Defend Wellness campaign from Healist Naturals. I also like how they are pushing to make a real difference by partnering with charities to show support for World Mental Health Day. There’s still far too much stigma attached to mental health issues, we hope this campaign can challenge and inspire people to think differently. Good mental health is a human right.”

Luciano Cian, Brazilian based artist combines painting, printmaking, and urban intervention to create stunning portrayals of humanity. His limited-edition design portrays the beauty of our community and the importance of supporting each other to defend mental health.

“A lot of things demand our attention and it’s easy for life to fall out of balance. There is simply too many people struggling with their mental health in silence, so it's vital for us all to start talking openly. I hope this powerful campaign brings down the barriers and inspires people to talk - together we can Defend Wellness"

With this initiative we want to challenge people to think differently, with positive message of support to drive change and help more people to defend wellness.
